For all of you saying SC has no depth, please go watch the match between Stork vs. Flash.
There was no 'rush', no massing of units. There was extreme intelligence and battlefield awareness.

I used to love playing those micromanagement maps. It was UMS for 4 players and you got like 9 marines against 3 zealots or 2 dragoons against 8 zerglings.
[email protected], [email protected], [email protected] were also my favs

I enjoyed ravaging Koreans who thought they were good and being ravaged by humble koreans who destroyed my very existence.

Fact: Starcraft as sold over 10 million copies world wide.
Fact: Starcraft servers are still in ample supply on Battle.net to this very day.
Fact: World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers.
Now don't try to dispute these facts as "bullshit" and "lies" without a good reason for doing so. Saying their games "sucks" isn't really cutting it since the reason they are so popular is because they're good games.

Likewise, it requires little set up and strategy to counter. If you're successful with a zerg rush, you're not playing against a good player.

Somehow it seems a little pointless to be arguing about something so trivial.

Shut your face if you know nothing.
25 marines with 4 medics will make it further than 200 marines.
You and Spike are the (edited out so im not banned) on this thread. Get out, youre always wrong. Im here to talk about Starcraft and instead I have to call you out on being an (edited out so im not banned)
Massing units is a waste of money, because it can easily be countered and beaten.
edit:
here is a good example. Say you (Spike or Dalsk) mass carriers. Because you would, being the ultimate (edited out so im not banned)
Carriers ----> EMP Shockwave, Lockdown, Wraiths, Goliaths, Turrets. All cheaper and faster to build.
Bring a Sci Vessel and you can use 6 or 7 goliaths to kill off 12 carriers.
When I say "can" I mean the ability to, provided you understand micromanagement and you actually attack the carrier, not the interceptors.

Ah, starcraft. Personally I've never played it, so idk why exactly I'm posting here. Rlly though, it must be a pretty good game, as my good GW friend Akhilleus Pthius used to tell me about his 24 hour marathon starcraft sessions. After hearing all about it from him, it sounded quite fun. I've wanted to try it ever since, but never did. Sadly my gaming comp is collecting dust atm, my consoles have taken over (dont flame ^^).

You could probably play starcraft on a calculator. It does not need much of a pc at all. IMO, you are not missing much, I really didn't enjoy SC much.

Very few things are older than the first edition of warhammer. We're talking about 40k.

As well as every re deco of the Tyranids. (Making them more and more like the Zerg. And before that, they were ripping of the movie 'Alien' with 'Space Hulk.') Or how about the blood thirsters of Khorne? They're pretty much 'Diablo.' Necrons? They looked like balls before they were re released. Now they're Terminator.
Granted, Blizzard are wh*res to pop culture. Games Workshop are just WH*RES. Wh*res copying wh*res copying wh*res.
I play both games, I like both games. I like other games better. Especially when in contrast to WH40K. I refuse to buy any of Games Workshops products anymore for personal reasons. Least of all from an actual Games Workshop distributor.

So I guess cat and dog meat must be the best thing ever as tons of koreans eat it. Or China must be the best country to live in as it has over 1 billion people in it. Or Titanic was the best movie ever as it took the most money. Being popular does NOT mean the item in question is any good it just means its popular.

You're so stupid it hurts.
If you want to believe GW sales as 5 million, then...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...llers_by_genre
PC
PC
This is an incomplete list of PC games (including Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and Linux) that have sold one million copies or more. Please note that the sales figures for expansion packs are not used in calculation of the sales figure for the original game (with the exception of StarCraft and Guild Wars). And yes, Spike, if a game is popular, it means it's good. It means more people want to play it. So screw off with your idiocy.

The GW equivalent would be IWay in PvP. Popular to set up, but ineffective in the long run.

I have friends who worked for them. (And some still do.)
Within the last little while they instituted a 'monthly sales quota' for their employees. Yes, a monthly sales quota for a gaming store. Where 80% of their staff are part time and they're selling ONLY Products for Tabletop gaming. And not just tabletop gaming, which is already a niche market, ONLY Games Workshop gaming supplies.
